A Little Break

We took a small break from the movie this past weekend to enter into a 10 hour film competition.  Here is our entry and little piece explaining.

NOTE: Give the video 10 seconds. We had to put ten seconds of black as a bumper at the beginning.

The same crew that will be bringing you 0:22:43 also gives you 12th Street.

This short was created in 10 hours as an entry into the Independent Filmmaker’s Coalition of Kansas City’s One Night Stand Competition.

The One Night Stand gives filmmaking teams 10 hours to write, shoot, edit, and deliver a no more than 5 minute short film. The 2009 ONS competition required teams to include:

Prop: a piece of paper

Line of dialog: “It’s alive, It’s alive”

Theme: unrequited love.

This short tied for the Captain’s Choice Award after screening in the competition. We are all very proud of the work we did and hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it.

This is uploaded exactly as it was turned in, so there are a few changes to the credits that I failed to insert due to time restraints, so I apologize:

The short was written by Jerry White, Anthony Thompson, and Allie Terveer.

DP stands for Director of Photography, in case you didn’t know. I didn’t have time to make the long title and my long name look good, so I just substituted DP.

Allie Terveer was also an indispensable member of the editing team.

Thom Proctor composed the music within the 10 hour time limit, so give him a round of applause for that.

Please, leave your comments and questions below and we shall address and answer them.

Cast and Crew Meeting!

Hey cast and crew!

We are ready to start making 0:22:43!  This weekend is the begining of a fun and long movie making experience.  Everyone is very excited about the project, and if you were able to see the read through on our live link you have seen how the actors have taken these characters and made them real.  If you have not seen our read through, than you should go and check it out, you wont be disappoint.

Now to business, this Friday, the 27, we have a cast and crew meeting at 8:00 pm that will be at 707 clubhouse drive. This is located off of west pine street. You take pine street down past the blind boone park, and than on your right there will be hidden pines subdivision. You want to make a right into it and than a left onto clubhouse drive.

Here is the link for it:

Now when you look at this link, google maps couldn’t find the street, and apparently to it does not exist to google.

For people who would like to be a part of the crew or a extra, but have not talk to Jerry, Tony, or myself (Allie).  You are more than welcome to show up.

We look forward to see everyone Friday the 27th, at 8:00 pm at 707 clubhouse drive.

Allie

And… We’re Back!

Sorry for the long dry spell.  The 0:22:43 trio were out on Spring Break, giving ourselves some much deserved time away from the project.  Now, we’re back and ready to take this head on and Hustle!  The link is a little something from me… the content is not approved by Jerry or Allie (yet).

Box of mic stuff! I'm thinking if a video showing you guys wh... on TwitPic There is a lot to talk about, but some I can’t just yet. First, we have secured a microphone.  It’s a small thing, we realize, but also very HUGE for the fact that we have so little money right now.  I could go into all the nitty gritty technical details of the microphone, but I won’t.  Mostly because we have a couple of surprises planned for you guys in the coming week.  Also, one of those surprises might be a bit shameless… just to warn you. ;)

We are very close to final stages of preproduction, which is good considering production starts this weekend on March 28.  The final and no doubt awesome read through will happen on Wednesday at 5pm in the James C Kirkpatrick Library Room 2305.  Same room as the auditions and the first read through.  This second run through should be a lot better than the first and a bit more lively.  I know most of you weren’t there, but I’m thinking of ways to possibly change that for this second time around.  Keep an eye on the site!

That should cover most of what has happened and will happen.  The next few posts should be a bit more visually interesting. I promise.

PS: Tell your friends and family about that Donate button! See?  I told you we can be shameless.

Success! Or Really Close To It.

We have seen a drastic increase in traffic since launching the site on January 31, 2009. We have had over a thousand page views and 241 unique visitors. A lot of that thanks goes to you, for coming to the site and reading what we have here. We are also pleased to see that a good portion of you are coming back to the site, even when there are only about a dozen actually subscribed.

This is amazing.  The amount of support has been overwhelming and humbling.  Thank you.

There have been a couple small changes to the site.  The “Casting Call” post was “stickied.”  Meaning it will stay in the number one spot until the auditions are over.  This is make sure that for everyone who wants to see the info, it will be there to be seen.

Also, we have taken the liberty to have the site create a daily post that just lists our Twitter posts for that day.  It’s pretty cool, because Twitter is a great tool for posting quick updates and pictures of our process.  Now, if you aren’t on Twitter, you can still see what we’ve been up to between these blog posts.

Pre-Production Stills Live!

We have added the pictures from our first round of location scouting.  What we found, blew us away and we decided to use the location for the movie.

To see what we found, just check and click the Stills page up there above this post.  The pictures were taken by Jerry White and myself, with Allison Pullum’s drool-inducing Canon EOS 5D Mark II.  She also used her awesome photography skills to make them look good.  Check out her work.

UPDATE (Feb. 22, 2009): There is still some work to be done on the gallery.  It uses SimpleViewer and was constructed with Lightroom.  We just need to figure out how to get a link back to the site embedded inside the viewer.  Shouldn’t be too difficult, but for now, just stick with your back button.
